Abstract
In this article, we report on three RAPD markers linked to the anthracnose resistance gene present in the new bean breeding line A1220, and on the development of a SCAR from one of such RAPDs. The results obtained strongly support that Co-9 is the gene introduced in A1220 and that this gene is also present in the differential cultivar PI207262. On the other hand, complementation tests have been carried out, indicating that the anthracnose resistance genes Co-9 and Co-3, previously considered independent genes, are allelic.
Keywords: Molecular markers, MAS, anthracnose, bean, Phaseolus vulgaris L.

Abstract
In the last years, various lines of common bean with similar morphological traits were developed in the SERIDA. These lines present two different resistant genes to anthracnose (Co-2 or Co-9) or different growth habit (determinate or indeterminate). In order to identify these lines a total of 22 molecular markers linked to Fin/fin, Co-2/co-2 or Co-9/co-9 genes were analysed. Three molecular markers were sufficient to differentiate among all lines.

Abstract
Five races of Colletotrichum lindemuthianum were inoculated on 204 bean landraces and other materials from the SERIDA bean germplasm collection. All tested Phaseolus vulgaris L. landraces were susceptible to at least one of the five races. Ten lines from the genetic stock, including lines A1220, A1183, A1258, A1239, X1319 and X1358, obtained from different breeding programs in the SERIDA, were resistant to the five C. lindemuthianum races. Considering together the resistance specificities to these races, a total of twenty different resistance phenotypes were found among the evaluated materials. Complementation tests are in progress in order to investigate the genetic control of the resistance present in different materials.
